Our coveted Saturday School leads the way in part-time performing arts training. Through fun technique classes children are provided with a host of opportunities to learn new skills, develop confidence and celebrate their individuality.
Students attend 3 sessions of acting, singing and dance classes led by industry professionals and guest workshop leaders from the world of TV, Theatre and music. We pride ourselves in having the best tutors in the business.
From Classical to Street Dance, Pop to Musical Theatre, Song Writing to Acting for Camera our students cover a wide range of genres during their training.
We are proud to be a private LAMDA exam centre meaning that all our students gain nationally recognised qualifications along side their learning.
As well as LAMDA examinations our dance classes follow the National Dance Reward scheme allowing all children to enhance their skills whilst earning certificates and badges as they advance through the levels.
Following a termly structure designed to challenge and inspire we set realistic goals to enable each individual to feel a constant sense of achievement.
All classes rehearse and join together at the end of term to perform in a fantastic full scale production at the 350 seat Michael Croft Theatre complete with lights, costumes and full audience.
Classes work with their tutors towards International Dance Reward Badges in Musical Theatre whilst getting to grips with the technique of each discipline - acting, dance and singing. At the end of term parents are invited to view an open class.
LAMDA EXAM TERM
Children work towards group LAMDA exams during their classes. They perform their LAMDA exam pieces to an examiner at the end of term and are marked as a group to achieve a national recognised qualification. Children also perform their pieces to parents the week before their examination. We alternate between Musical Theatre, Choral Speaking and Acting exams each year so the children build up a varied catalogue of grades which help when they apply for secondary and further education establishments.
